The Himeyuri Peace Research Center is an affiliate of the Himeyuri Peace Museum and was established in 2017. We are currently focusing on disseminating information abroad and peace education initiatives, with the goal of making the museum’s philosophy known to a wider audience.
In 2018, “Memory Walk,” a filmmaking workshop developed by the Anne Frank House, took place, and from 2019 to 2021 the “Exhibition Project for the History of the Battle of Okinawa and the Himeyuri Student Corps in Hawaii” was held to convey the story of the Battle of Okinawa and the Himeyuri Student Corps to the rest of the world. We have also published an English newsletter that informs visitors about the various efforts of the museum. In addition, we host the “video contest to convey “Himeyuri” to the world” and hold workshops as part of our efforts to find new ways of informing people about the Battle of Okinawa.
